Unlocking the Law

Unlocking the Law: About the series

In March 2010 we re-launched our Unlocking the Law textbooks to make them even more student-friendly. Building on the success of this groundbreaking series of textbooks we kept all the features you told us you loved: the clear case examples and judgments, activities, useful key facts charts, diagrams, and clear headings and sub-headings, and we have added, at your request, the following:

  • chapter summaries tied to the aims and objectives to reinforce what you have just learnt in each chapter
  • sample essay questions with answer plans to help you structure your essays
  • exam questions with guidance on answering to help you prepare for end of year exams
  • more diagrams to help bring the subject to life and aid visual learners
  • a glossary of legal terminology to ensure you understand key words and phrases
  • student mentor tips from last year's students - what they wish someone had told them!

The new editions published in 2010 are, of course, also fully up-to-date with all the recent changes to the law.

Unlocking the Law textbooks have been written specifically to ensure that readers understand fully the concepts required and are able to apply them with confidence.

All titles in the series follow the same format and include the same features so students can move easily from one subject to another. The series covers all the core undergraduate foundation subjects required by the Bar Council and the Law Society for entry onto professional qualifications.
